Challenge Partners 2017

Challenge Partners Quality Assurance Review November 2017 found many positive indicators and for the second year in a row, judged the school to be outstanding in all areas. As a school, we have continued to make excellent progress since the last report and are proud of our achievements.

Deepening the understanding of children's learning through a mastery approach in Mathematics was confirmed as an Area of Excellent Practice.

The use of resources and effective questioning to help pupils master all areas of mathematics was observed as strengths across the school. This was evident through discussions with staff, senior leaders and pupils and supported by evidence in classrooms. The high quality teaching of mathematics was also highly commended in our most recent Ofsted report, January 2017.

If you would like to read the full report please find it here...

A Message from the Executive Principal...

Welcome to Portland Spencer Academy and thank you so much for your interest in our school. Our core purpose is 'to work together to become a centre of excellence where all can achieve'. We develop this ethos through our ASPIRE pact, creating exciting learning and a culture of high expectations. It is a privilege to be part of such a hard working team.

Mrs Angela O'Brien

A Message from the Head of School...

At Portland Spencer Academy we truly believe in working together for success for each and every child. We ASPIRE in everything we do by providing a curriculum that inspires, builds curiosity and challenges all to fulfil their potential. By forming excellent relationships, having a great understanding of our children's strengths and individual development needs, we challenge the children to make their own choices, building learning behaviours which will set them up for life. Together, staff, parents and children are on a journey together, where giving children the best chance to succeed is our only destination.

We hope this website gives you an insight to our learning world but if you want to know more and join us on our journey, feel free to contact us to arrange for us to show you around.

Kind Regards, Mrs Kate Green
